Special Administrator Workshop - Free, Half-Day, AI Topic!

Navigating Artificial Intelligence in Schools

This workshop is designed for school administrators interested in exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. Participants will explore how AI can transform classroom learning experiences, optimize administrative operations, and enhance community engagement. We’ll also discuss the unique challenges and concerns administrators, teachers, staff, students, and parents face when employing emerging AI tools.

  • ​December 6, 2025 IN-PERSON at The College of New Jersey; 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Receive $50 stipend for attending workshop in full.

GRADES K-5 PD

All 6-hour workshops are free for ALL NEW JERSEY TEACHERS, with eligibility for receiving a STIPEND for attending! Seats are extremely limited, so apply for a seat as soon as possible (application at the bottom of the page). Once your application is accepted, you must RSVP and lock in your seat, attend the session in full, and you will be eligible receive a stipend for your attendance and participation. You may only attend the same workshop once (i.e. You cannot attend CSF once in September 2025, and once in January 2026 to receive two stipends). One seat per participant. Become a partner district, and receive priority access to all workshops and stipend seats.

What's All the Hype About AI and Machine Learning

Want to know more about artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) but don’t know where to start. Looking to introduce AI and ML to your students but aren’t quite ready? This workshop will introduce you to AI and machine learning in a fun interactive way and prepare you to teach it to your K-5 students immediately. We will define AI and ML, explore AI and human perception, incorporate stories, and try our hand at using AI and ML. You will leave with hands-on activities to bring to your classroom and resources to delve deeper.

  • December 1 and December 4, 2025 virtual via Zoom; 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM each part (2 parts total)

  • Receive $100 stipend for attending workshop in full (attending all 2 parts).

Introduction to Block-based Programming with Scratch!

Scratch is one of the most versatile and accessible programming languages that allows for students to not only learn the principles of programming, but also create unique stories, animations, games, and more! In this workshop, we not only look at strategies for success in teaching computer science in the younger grades, but also learn the ins and outs of the Scratch programming language. This workshop starts from the beginning and is intended for teachers with little or no prior experience in teaching Scratch as we start from the basics and progress to high-level challenges by the end of the day! This workshop is also happening in-person so we can not only get hands-on with programming in Scratch, but learn how to incorporate physical computing resources like the MakeyMakey and micro:bit too!

Teacher Assisting a Student

AP CS Principles and CS A Connections, Tips, & Tricks

This workshop will review changes to the AP Computer Science A Course, scoring free-response questions, tips for the create task in Computer Science Principles, and scoring the create task. Whether you are a new or veteran AP CS teacher, you do not want to miss this workshop!​

CSEdWeek Webinars

CS at the 
Middle School Level 
(For educators in Grades 5-8)

Grades 5-8 are a key time for students to engage with computer science activities as this may not only allow for them to gain proficiency in this subject area, but also excite and engage them for higher levels of learning to come. In this workshop, we discuss what languages and instructional resources are well suited specifically for the middle school area, as well as how to articulate between elementary and high school programs effectively.

There are many directions you can take after AP Computer Science A for kids who are really interested.  In this workshop, we'll explore the direction that the presenter's program takes: a year-long, client oriented capstone project.  Along the way, students get solid basics on project management, product lifecycle, and explore and learn technologies far beyond what any teacher can teach.
